Role: Designer
Over five years, I was one of the primary designers on the Verizon account at an agency, working with a team across its website, online store, and digital campaigns. That work included the 4G LTE launch, a moment I was proud to help bring to life.
The creative challenge was to make the technology’s potential feel personal. I worked with bold imagery, radiating signal rings, and clear information to connect it with what people could do—from everyday communication to running a business.

CHALLENGES
The work spanned desktop and mobile sites, YouTube takeovers, banner ads, and interactive content. Each format needed to feel part of the same campaign while serving a different purpose. I worked closely with developers and technical teams to maintain that consistency through animations, rollovers, and transitions.

GOALS
Put people at the center: Bring Rule the Air to life through visuals that connected network capability with freedom, creativity, and possibility.
Make the technology understandable: Explain 4G LTE through clear comparisons and practical uses, especially for professionals and small businesses.
Create a recognizable system: Keep the campaign’s imagery, typography, and interaction patterns coherent across digital touchpoints.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Contributed across Verizon’s digital presence: Created design work for Verizon.com and supporting campaign platforms over a five-year relationship.
Put the campaign’s visual language into practice: Used radiating rings and prominent portraits to make people central to the network story.
Connected storytelling with information: Designed experiences that paired campaign imagery with network education, device discovery, and coverage information.
Helped shape creative direction: Presented design choices and pitched campaign ideas in meetings with Verizon.
RULE THE AIR: DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
I designed the launch experience around the campaign’s portraits and radiating signal rings, keeping the person at the center of the network story. Bold 4G LTE branding and question-led navigation balanced the campaign’s visual impact with clear routes into the information.

CAMPAIGN LANDING PAGE
The landing page brought the campaign’s visual language into a single destination. I balanced a strong opening image with practical entry points for network comparisons, business uses, coverage, and devices, keeping the main questions visible alongside the campaign message.

EXPLAINING 4G LTE
I paired the campaign’s portraits and signal rings with focused information panels to explain the network in more depth. A consistent question menu let visitors move between topics, while clear text hierarchy and supporting graphics broke a technical subject into smaller, approachable pieces.

COMPARISON & DATA DESIGN
For network comparisons, I used a layered graphic to make the relative download speeds easy to scan. Color, scale, and direct labels established a clear hierarchy, while the surrounding panel provided supporting detail. The figures shown reflect the campaign at the time.

DEVICE DISCOVERY
The device view shifted the focus from the campaign portrait to the products themselves. I used a darker, restrained background to give the devices room to stand out, with prominent red calls to action and familiar navigation connecting product discovery to the wider 4G LTE story.

RULE THE AIR AD CAMPAIGN
The advertising carried the signal-ring motif into a range of formats. Portraits, graphic patterns, and bold red panels kept the campaign recognizable across different ad sizes. These selected pieces show how the visual language extended beyond the website.

4G LTE LANDING PAGE REDESIGN
The landing-page redesign organized the experience around three clear routes: exploring 4G LTE, discovering devices, and checking coverage. Large image panels and direct headlines made those choices easy to scan, while the coverage map gave the network story a concrete visual anchor.
