Designing Starbucks’ Fall in Love mobile experience was a chance to turn the feeling of a new season into a coffee discovery journey. I wanted the site to feel warm and inviting, while helping people explore the coffees they could brew at home.
The campaign combined familiar Starbucks branding with fall colors, coffee imagery, and a scrolling layout. My focus was to make that atmosphere work with clear navigation and useful product information, rather than letting the seasonal treatment overwhelm the small screen.
CHALLENGES
The experience needed to introduce several coffees, communicate their individual character, and give visitors a clear next step. Rich imagery had to support discovery while keeping the controls and product details easy to follow on mobile.
GOALS
Create a seasonal mood: Use warm colors, inviting textures, and coffee imagery to carry the Fall in Love campaign into the mobile experience.
Make discovery intuitive: Use clear navigation and tap targets so visitors could explore the coffee range easily.
Connect learning with action: Present origin and flavor information alongside a direct route to purchase.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Designed a cohesive campaign experience: Brought seasonal storytelling, product imagery, and mobile interaction into one visual system.
Made product differences visible: Used dedicated coffee views to introduce each blend’s character and supporting details.
Balanced atmosphere with usability: Used expressive typography, large touch targets, and prominent calls to action to keep the experience inviting and easy to navigate.
FALL IN LOVE: COFFEE DISCOVERY
I used an invitation to explore and a row of tappable coffee bags to introduce the experience. As visitors scrolled, dedicated product views presented origin and flavor information with a clear Buy Now button. The cream background, burgundy accents, and coffee-bean imagery carried the campaign’s seasonal mood throughout.
